“Board Certification of Pharmacotherapy Specialty (BCPS) Preparatory Course”
What is the BCPS Preparatory Course?
The course is designed for pharmacists to prepare for the Pharmacotherapy Specialty Certification Examination administered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties, USA. It provides a detailed review of the topics required by the board. Topics are reviewed in case based format, with both basic level knowledge in pharmacology and therapeutics and updates on recent guideline recommendations.
The course will be taught by MIU faculty and certified BCPS practitioners with clinical experience.
Clinical practice at a major Egyptian hospital will be available to course participants (optional)
What will you learn?
The course will be covering the following domains:
- Patient-Specific Pharmacotherapy (55 percent of examination)
- Drug Information and Evidence-Based Medicine (25 percent of examination)
- System-Based Standards and Population-Based Pharmacotherapy (20 percent of examination)
What is the duration of the course?
The course duration will be 10 months.

The Equivalence Exam Preparatory Course (EEPC)
What is the EEPC?
The Equivalence Exam Preparation Course (EEPC) is designed for pharmacists who are applying for a foreign license of practice, either in USA or Canada. The EEPC prepares you for either the U.S. Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) or the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) Evaluating Exam.
What will you learn?
This course will cover all areas of current pharmaceutical education in USA and Canada. The course provides a detailed review of the topics required to pass the aforementioned tests.
What is the duration of the course?
The course duration will be 7 months.
