Laser Mastership Program
Policies
The program consists of lectures, hands-on workshops, e-learning, clinical cases and exams; under supervision of the AALZ-Aachen University Dental LASER Center.
Who is eligible to our program?
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry from an Egyptian university or an equivalent accredited university
- Hold a valid license of practice of profession or its equivalent
- Have a cumulative GPA of not less than 2 or its equivalent
- Pass the interview of the required department of specialty (LASER Program Board)
- Pass MIU English placement exam or its equivalent (for Non- MIU graduates)
Module I (MIU Campus)
- Laser physics and laser safety (Laser Safety Officer Certification).
- Laser structure, function and handling – hands-on laser-tissue interaction.
Module II Diode Laser (MIU Campus)
- Theoretical background, clinical indications, skill training and demo treatments.
- Responsible usage of Diode-Lasers and understanding of biophysical backgrounds (absorption and transmission in special tissue).
- Accurate application of all relevant clinical indications of Diode-Lasers.
Module III – Erbium LASER (MIU Campus)
- Theoretical background, clinical indications, skill training and demo treatments.
- Responsible usage of Erbium-Lasers and understanding of biophysical backgrounds (absorption and transmission in special tissue).
- Accurate application of all relevant clinical indications of Erbium-Lasers.
Module IV (AALZ – RWTH Aachen University, Germany)
- Written Examination.
- Presentation of Clinical Cases.
- Graduation Ceremony.
