LASER Therapy in Dentistry – Mastership Program

Who is eligible to our program?

Applicants must:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry from an Egyptian university or an equivalent accredited university
• Hold a valid license of practice of profession or its equivalent
• Have a cumulative GPA of not less than 2 or its equivalent
• Pass the interview of the required department of specialty (LASER Program Board)
• Pass MIU English placement exam or its equivalent (for Non- MIU graduates)
  
  
  

Program Overview

1. Module I – (MIU Campus)
   • Laser physics and laser safety (Laser Safety Officer Certification)
   • Laser structure, function and handling – hands-on laser-tissue interaction
     
     
2. Module II Diode Lasers – (MIU Campus)
   • Theoretical background, clinical indications, skill training and demo treatments
   • Responsible usage of Diode-Lasers and understanding of biophysical backgrounds (absorption and transmission in special tissue)
   • Accurate application of all relevant clinical indications of Diode-Lasers
     
     
3. Module III – Er:YAG-Lasers, Er,Cr:YSGG-Lasers – (MIU Campus)
   • Theoretical background, clinical indications, skill training and demo treatments
   • Responsible usage of Erbium-Lasers and understanding of biophysical backgrounds (absorption and transmission in special tissue)
   • Accurate application of all relevant clinical indications of Erbium-Lasers
     
     
4. Module IV – (AALZ –RWTH Aachen, Germany)
   • Written examination
   • Presentation of clinical treatment cases
