Course Overview
This is an introductory course to evidence based practice. Understanding the principles of evidence based practice will enable participants to apply the skills they acquired through the workshops to systematically check research evidence by critical appraisal. Participants will learn how to integrate concepts of evidence based practice in dental health care settings.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course attendees should be able to:
- perceive the importance of evidence based practice in health care settings.
- explain the principles of evidence based practice, including systematic reviews.
- evaluate the reporting quality of published literature through critical reading.
- apply different types of critical appraisal checklists according to types of studies.
