Pharmacy Experiential Training Program (PETP)
Pharmacy Experiential Training Program is a structured supervised program of participation in the professional practice of pharmacy that is designed to assure the best practical experience according to international standards. The experiential curriculum encompasses faculty-directed teaching and learning experiences that have been developed to prepare and train the students to apply the knowledge acquired in didactic courses, and help them acquire professional skills needed to practice competently in a variety of pharmaceutical settings.
PETP seeks to engage students in pharmacy practice activities that take place in pharmaceutical companies, community pharmacies, hospitals, and various health institutions. Students who master the competencies of the PETP will also exhibit strong ethics, professionalism, confidence, and leadership. Therefore, these experiences must be of adequate intensity, breadth, structure, and duration to achieve the defined educational outcomes. The aggregate of the practical structured training ensures that all educational outcomes and entry to practice competencies are met by students prior to completion of the academic program.
Vision:
The vision of the PETP is to empower future pharmacists to be agents of change and leaders in creating a climate of patient-focused practice of pharmacy in a culture of encouragement and accountability.
Mission:
The mission of the PETP is to design quality pharmacy practice experiences for students to pursue optimum patient-centered pharmaceutical care, and to educate current and future practitioners to meet and respond to changing demands of the job market.
PETP Goals:
