Analytical Chemistry | Medicinal Chemistry | Organic Chemistry | ||
The program covers modern analytical techniques related to chromatography, electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. It provides examples of how these techniques can be applied in analysis of drugs and biologically active compounds. The program also discusses automated monitoring and process analysis in a variety of industrial, clinical and environmental applications. | The program includes all the necessary advanced knowledge in the field of design and synthesis and development of novel organic compounds that may cause specific effects on the body or form the basis of exciting new materials. The program also includes in–depth studies of organic chemical reactions, including principles for stereoselective synthesis and organometallic chemistry. | The program provides an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying modern aspects of organic chemistry. Within the program you will be able to direct your education towards organic chemistry and get hands on experience with advanced techniques and equipment for producing small molecules. |
Overview

- Highly competitive research based graduate programs, that prepare the students for a career in pharmaceutical chemistry or related fields through the development of a firm foundation in the fundamental science and applications of pharmaceutical chemistry

- A total 36 credit hours is required for the master degree. This consists of 6 credit hours of general courses and 14 credit hours of special courses, in addition to 16 credit hours for the Thesis.
- Registration for a minimum of 2 academic years is required for graduation
- Degree requirements must be completed in no more than 5 academic years
Eligibility
The applicant must
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from an Egyptian university or an equivalent accredited university
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.5 or its equivalent
- Achieve a GPA of not less than 3.0 or its equivalent in the required specialty
- Pass the interview of the required department of specialty
- Pass MIU English placement test or achieve a TOEFL score not less than 550 from an accredited center
