Misr International University celebrated its 16th graduation ceremony on March 2 and 3 at the Intercontinental City Stars.
The faculties of Business Administration and International Trade, Pharmacy, Computer Science and Engineering Sciences and Arts held their joint commencement on Wednesday March 2. The faculties of Mass Communication and Alsun, and Oral and Dental Medicine held their commencement on Thursday March 3.
The ceremonies were conducted under the auspices of Mr. Hussein El Rashidy, the founder of Misr International University, Mr. Mohamed Hussein El Rashidy, the president of the board of trustees, Professor Mohamed Shebl El Komy, the president of Misr International University, Faculties’ Deans, and Professors.
MIU, which has an inveterate history in the education field, has graduated a total number of 10028 students since 1996 from different faculties like Mass Communication and Alsun, Engineering Sciences and Arts, Business Administration and International Trade, Pharmacy, Computer Science, Oral and Dental Medicine.
Successful Field Training for Al-Alsun MIU Students
During the Fall 2018 semester (18F), the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication (Al-Alsun Department) has collaborated with several national and international schools in Egypt, including Dr. Nermien Ismail Language Schools (NIS), Ouroba Language Schools, Misr American College, and New Generation International Schools to offer training opportunities for fourth year students. Students shadowed experienced teachers in their classes and helped carry out class activities. Head teachers and supervisors at the assigned schools applauded Al-Alsun students for their commitment and enthusiasm. Al-Alsun students were encouraged to apply for a job interview upon their graduation.
Moreover, 39 students form the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication sat for a screening test at New Generation International Schools, on Sunday the 11th of March 2019, to select candidates to train at the school premises for two months in accordance with the Protocol of Cooperation concluded between MIU and Education First Foundation. Education First Foundation offers the opportunity for 2 Al-Alsun and Mass Communication graduates to join the “100 Graduates” project and receive state-of-the-art training program, at New Generation International Schools, to prepare them for working as teachers at Egyptian national and international schools.
The Center of Excellence in Translation and Localization Organizes a Five-Day Workshop on Conference Interpreting!
The Center of Excellence in Translation and Localization of the Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication organized a five-day workshop on “Conference Interpreting” on January 19 – 23, 2020.
The workshop provided hands-on training in interpreting in a conference-like setting where the participants had the opportunity to practice and polish their interpreting skills. It covered a number of topics, including consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting and conference proceedings.
The workshop was led by Al Alsun Assistant Professors Dr. Sama Dawood and Dr. Hanan Sharaf and Al Alsun instructor Ms. Maha Ashraf.
Faculty of Al Alsun & Mass Communication Organizes Seminar on Proper Nutrition during the COVID-19 Pandemic!
The Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication organized an online seminar on “Public Health and Proper Nutrition during the COVID-19 Pandemic” on April 12, 2021. The seminar was led by Dr. Nora Hassaballah, a Certified Health Professional and Coach, and a graduate of Dietetics and Nutrition at Northern Illinois University, USA. Dr. Hassaballah stressed how healthy eating is important for the immune system, and explained that an unhealthy diet is one of the major risk factors for a range of chronic diseases. She also provided advice on maintaining a healthy diet during the COVID-19 pandemic, including eating a healthy and varied diet, staying hydrated, and exercising regularly.





Al-Alsun Conducts Seminar on Empowering Youth Through Volunteerism
The Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication organized a seminar on “The Importance of Youth Volunteerism” on October 16, led by Ms. Rasha Esmat, Head of Programs Sector at Egypt`s Society for Culture & Development.
Ms. Esmat talked about the value of volunteerism as a powerful way for the young people to gain a strong sense of civic engagement and bring about positive change in their communities. She also discussed the importance of spreading the culture of volunteerism and explored some of the challenges of voluntary work.
MIU Faculty of Alsun and Mass communication opens admission for MA program in Comparative Media Studies
Applying for the second intake of master’s program in “Comparative Media Studies”, is now open through the MIU website.
The Master of Arts in Comparative Media Studies is an interdisciplinary program designed to respond to the rapid changes in local and international media. The Program examines new trends in the media industry through focusing on media convergence, constitutions of media conglomerates and media ownership.

MIU Students With Mona El Shazly on CBC
MIU students actively participated in the New Year’s episode for the Mona El Shazly program on CBC which aired on Friday December 30, 2016. Over 180 Mass Communication and Al-Alsun research students conducted the annual survey for the program.
The Mona El Shazly program organized an opinion poll to survey Egyptian popular opinion in a variety of entertainment categories, including best actor, best actress, best singer, best screenwriter, and best online video for 2016. The CBC program worked with MIU student to conduct the research.
Mass Communication and Alsun students distributed over 3000 surveys for the program and assisted with analysis of the results as part of their Research Methods coursework.
“Student participation in the CBC show gave the students practical experience as they applied the skills they had learned in the Research course to real world research in the Egyptian media industry,” said Dr. Nadia Hossam, Mass Communication instructor of the Research Methods course.
Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication Celebrates Orphans Day
The Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication celebrated the Orphans Day with the children of the “Egypt Association for the Protection of the Family and the Environment” on April 10, 2021. Professor Hanan Kilani, Vice Dean for Community Service & Environment Development, Dr. Ingy Emara, Dr. Hanan Sharaf, and Teaching |Assistant Nehal Walid spent the day with the children, enjoying various games and entertainment activities. They handed out English stories written and designed by Al Alsun students, posters designed by Mass Communication students to raise awareness of COVID-19, in addition to stationary and drawing materials for the kids.




New Trends in Teaching Literature, Language, and Translation
Misr International University’s Al-Alsun Department organized a symposium entitled “New Trends in Teaching Literature, Language, and Translation” on Tuesday 12/4/2016. Professor Laila Galal gave a presentation on “Creating Innovative Learning Experiences with Graphic Novels”, Dr. Sama Dawood on “Web-Based Tools for ESL Flipped Classroom”, and finally Dr. Ghada Abdel-Aziz on “Tips on Translation Teaching”.
