MIU students actively participated in the New Year’s episode for the Mona El Shazly program on CBC which aired on Friday December 30, 2016. Over 180 Mass Communication and Al-Alsun research students conducted the annual survey for the program.
The Mona El Shazly program organized an opinion poll to survey Egyptian popular opinion in a variety of entertainment categories, including best actor, best actress, best singer, best screenwriter, and best online video for 2016. The CBC program worked with MIU student to conduct the research.
Mass Communication and Alsun students distributed over 3000 surveys for the program and assisted with analysis of the results as part of their Research Methods coursework.
“Student participation in the CBC show gave the students practical experience as they applied the skills they had learned in the Research course to real world research in the Egyptian media industry,” said Dr. Nadia Hossam, Mass Communication instructor of the Research Methods course.
