Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine Fifth Year Students and Interns visit Bahr Abu El Meer, Al Fayoum.
In cooperation with Ibrahim Badran Foundation.

On Saturday 23rd of November 2019, MIU Community Service and Environmental Committee, in cooperation with the Student and Educational Affairs Committee, Internship Administration and Administration of the DCC, and in cooperation with Ibrahim Badran Foundation organized a dental convoy to Bahr Abu El Meer school in Al Fayoum. A group of staff members, dental interns, fifth year dental students as well as a team from MIU Dental Clinics Complex (nurses and administrative personnel) joined the trip.
The purpose of the visit was to promote dental health awareness, improve the oral health conditions and offer free-of-charge treatment at the Dental Clinic Complex after full mouth diagnosis. The patients received cards explaining their oral health state as well as the suggested treatment which they can later receive at MIU DCC according to availability.

Two forms of questionnaires were distributed: one at the beginning of the session for the patients, representatives of Badran Foundation, and administrative staff to determine their dental health care needs, and another one at the end of the session to evaluate the provided service and measure their satisfaction. A questionnaire was distributed to MIU participants as well. Educational materials and packs of toothpaste and brushes were distributed among all the attendants of the convoy.
The trip supervisors and the Foundation’s representatives appreciated the organization of the trip, and they recommended more field trips in the near future.
