MIU Faculty of Computer Science senior students group (Medika Group) won third prize and 90,000 EGP in the Start Up Egypt competition organized by Injaz Egypt.
The project ranked third out of 120 projects presented to the competition. The group was supervised by Dr. Ayman Ezzat and included Amgad Mohamed Serry, Anwar Mohamed Reda AlWakeel, Nour ElDin Ahmed ElSoubkky and Waleed Medhat Halaby.
The MIU student group presented a project which aims to satisfy the sterilization rules and regulations inside the medical surgical operation rooms. This is achieved by using the latest augmented reality techniques to get all the necessary information during the operation through smart glass for the operation team. The smart glass is managed and manipulated using gesture activities to ensure that the surgeons will not touch any unsterilized computer equipment inside the operation room.
The proposed solution also offers a lot of medical and statistical information related to the surgical procedure during the operation and at the same time facilitates the decision making process for the operation team during the surgery.
