Celebration of World Oral Health Day

The Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine celebrated World Oral Health Day on Monday, April 20, 2026, in collaboration with the World Dental Federation (FDI) and under the patronage of the President of Misr International University, the Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine at Misr International University, and the supervision of the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The event was held under the theme, “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life,” as part of ongoing efforts to support oral health awareness initiatives and promote a culture of prevention within the community.

The celebration was attended by Dr. Nahawand Thabet, a member of the Higher Council of the Federation and the African Continent Representative on the Council.

The event included a series of awareness sessions covering:
• The importance of maintaining oral and dental health
• Methods for preventing common dental problems
• Awareness of tooth sensitivity, its causes, and management
• Public health awareness, including the importance of hand hygiene and proper handwashing techniques for preventing disease transmission

The celebration activities were carried out with the active participation of the Community Dental Care (CDC) student club, along with a group of dental interns and members of the community service committee.

An awareness booth was also organized on campus, targeting students from various faculties, as well as faculty members and university staff. The booth witnessed remarkable engagement from attendees.

The event further extended to patients attending the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine clinics, where dental clinicians at the Diagnostic Center conducted oral examinations for visiting patients and provided personalized guidance on tooth sensitivity and preventive care. The activities also involved the faculty’s nursing staff and workers, reflecting a strong spirit of cooperation and community engagement.

A survey on oral and dental health was conducted among attendees, with 400 responses collected. Educational brochures, giveaways, and free samples—including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and hand sanitizers—were distributed throughout the day to patients visiting the faculty clinics, as well as to attendees at the celebration area on campus.

In addition, a satisfaction survey was conducted, and all responses indicated a 100% satisfaction rate.

فعاليات الاحتفال باليوم العالمي لأطباء الفم والاسنان

احتفلت كلية طب الفم والأسنان باليوم العالمي لصحة الفم والأسنان يوم الإثنين الموافق 20 ابريل 2026 بالتعاون مع الاتحاد العالمي لطب الاسنان (FDI) وتحت رعاية الأستاذ الدكتور رئيس الجامعة والأستاذ الدكتور عميد الكلية والأستاذ الدكتور وكيل الكلية لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، تحت شعار“A Happy Mouth, is a Happy Life”.

وذلك في إطار دعم أنشطة التوعية بصحة الفم والأسنان وتعزيز ثقافة الوقاية لدى أفراد المجتمع وبحضور د. نهاوند ثابت عضو المجلس الأعلى للاتحاد العالمي لطب الأسنان وممثلة القارة الافريقية في المجلس تضمنت الفعالية مجموعة من المحاضرات التوعوية التي تناولت:

* أهمية العناية بصحة الفم والأسنان.
* طرق الوقاية من مشكلات الأسنان.
* التوعية بحساسية الأسنان وأسبابها وطرق التعامل معها.
* التوعية بالصحة العامة وشرح الطرق الصحيحة لغسل اليدين للوقاية من الأمراض.

وقد استهدفت المحاضرات المرضى المترددين على عيادات كلية طب الأسنان، بمشاركة فعّالة من النادي الطلابيCDC وبعض طبيبات وأطباء الامتياز وأعضاء لجنة خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، حيث تم تقديم معلومات مبسطة ومفيدة تساعد على تحسين الصحة الفموية ورفع الوعي الصحي.

تم إقامة كشك توعوي (Booth) داخل الحرم الجامعي استهدف طلاب مختلف الكليات والسادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس والعاملين بالجامعة، وسط تفاعل كبير وإقبال مميز من الحضور.

امتد تأثير الفعالية ليشمل المرضى المترددين على عيادات كلية طب الفم والأسنان، حيث قام أطباء الأسنان بمركز التشخيص بإجراء فحوصات فموية للمرضى الزائرين، مع تقديم إرشادات شخصية حول حساسية الأسنان وسبل الوقاية منها، بالإضافة إلى طاقم التمريض والعاملين بالكلية، وذلك في أجواء عكست روح التعاون والمشاركة المجتمعية.

كما تم إجراء استبيان حول صحة الفم والأسنان بين الحضور، حيث تم جمع 400 استجابة. وتم توزيع منشورات تثقيفية وهدايا وعينات مجانية — تشمل فرش الأسنان ومعجون الأسنان ومعقمات اليدين — على مدار اليوم للمرضى المترددين على عيادات الكلية، وكذلك لجميع الحاضرين في منطقة الاحتفال داخل الحرم الجامعي.

كما تم إجراء استبيان آخر لقياس مستوى الرضا للسادة حضور الفعالية، وقد أظهرت جميع النتائج نسبة رضا بلغت 100%.
