International Office Programs (IOP)
The MIU administration is determined to have all its programs recognized and accredited locally, regionally and internationally. With this prime goal in mind, MIU is planning to attract more and more reputable universities to be affiliated with, and is working on offering its students a wider range of academic programs.
Study Abroad/Student Exchange Programs
These are well-established programs designed for undergraduate students who wish to travel abroad and study in internationally-recognized universities. These programs have a flexible study period for students who wish to study for a semester or a year. Study Abroad and Student Exchange Programs enable the student to benefit from the opportunity of living for a few months in a different culture. Students refine their language and communication skills, enrich their resumes and above all make new friends from different backgrounds. The lessons learned from this experience surpass any lessons learned in a classroom.

The Middle East Studies Program (MESP) (This program could be offered during Summer, Fall, or Spring Semesters):
This program is an interdisciplinary program consisting of a number of courses in humanities and social sciences. The opportunity of participating in this intensive study of the region’s history and culture is open to all foreign exchange students studying at MIU. The variety of courses presents a comprehensive overview of the potentials and challenges of the region. Students of this program will gain deeper insight into the Middle East region.

Intensive Arabic Language Program (IALP) (This program could be offered during Fall, or Spring Semesters):
This advanced course is designed to develop learners’ skills from a stage of acquiring all the basic grammatical skills to being able to use language in its cultural context. It provides additional practice to help students attain an advanced level of Arabic proficiency in the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, with special attention to grammar, and vocabulary. It adopts a skill-based approach in which students master the language through getting exposed to different authentic texts taken from various sources (books, periodicals, internet, videos and audio material). In this course, learners will improve their level in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and, at the same time, will be introduced to the Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) to be able to function in the Egyptian society.
Teaching applies student-centered techniques, with the instructor as a facilitator. The teaching and learning methods include assignments, role-play, classroom exercises, presentations and field trips.

Academic Advice/Curriculum Development Programs
MIU realizes the need to adapt its curricula and academic methodologies to the fast-paced global community. Aiming at gaining international accreditation, MIU has sought the advice and guidance of well-established international universities in order to facilitate the achievement of this objective. Committees from partner universities thoroughly evaluate MIU curricula. Course outlines, textbooks, and other instructional material are thoroughly assessed. Class visits are also made. Based on this evaluation, recommendations are given on how to develop the curricula.
Faculty Exchange/Visiting Professors Programs
These programs provide opportunities for interaction and exchange of knowledge and academic information among faculty members of different institutions. This enriches the educational experience of MIU students by exposing them to professors from different cultural and academic backgrounds without having to travel.

Intensive Language Summer Courses/Specialized Summer School Courses
MIU students are given the opportunity to travel abroad during the summer in order to join an intensive foreign language course or a specialized course in their field of study offered by MIU’s partner universities. This program enables MIU students to develop their skills while exploring new lands and interacting with other cultures.

Specialized Workshops/Training Programs/ International Conferences
MIU Students have the opportunity to participate in a specialized workshops/ training programs/ international conferences in the field of their studies offered by MIU partner Universities or other international organizations. This enriches the educational experience of MIU students through providing them with the opportunity to interact with their foreign counterparts and also with professors and professionals from all over the world

Staff Advancement Program: Training Sessions
Training sessions delivered by visiting professors from partner universities are held on a regular basis at MIU.
Conferences & Seminars
Several seminars and public lectures are held for professionals, faculty and students in different fields including pharmacy, business administration and dentistry. Conferences are held regularly to allow MIU staff and the community in general to share knowledge and benefit from the exposure to different methodologies.
Postgraduate Studies
MIU assists its staff in finalizing their postgraduate studies in internationally renowned universities with which there are cooperation agreements.
