Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication Conducts Workshops at Fatma Al-Zahraa Orphanage
18 Nov 2021In its continuous efforts to provide support to the community, the Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication organized a number of workshops at Fatma Al-Zahraa Orphanage in Ain Shams. Professor Hanan Kilani, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development led, together with a number of Faculty members, professional workshops at the orphanage on two consecutive Thursdays, November 4 and 11, 2021.
Dr. Ingy Emara, Associate Professor of Linguistics and Dr. Maha Hamed, Assistant Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Al Alsun gave two workshops on the latest methods of English language teaching and assessment to English teachers at Al-Ghad Al-Moshreq, a school affiliated with the orphanage.
In addition, the Mass Communication Department Teaching Assistant Nehal Walid led a hands-on workshop on the principles of photography.
Profession Hanan Kilani conducted a workshop on bullying prevention focussing on the definition of bullying, its forms and causes, and ways of prevention and protection.
The Faculty Community Service and Environmental Development Committee members handed posters designed by Mass Communication students to raise awareness of COVID-19, in addition to Arabic stories, animal and aviation encyclopaedias and wooden teaching aids, numbers and alphabet boards in Arabic and English. They also distributed questionnaires to the managers, supervisors and those in charge of serving orphans to solicit their opinion regarding the services that the Faculty can provide in order to cater for their needs in future visits.
