On the 25th of July 2023, Dr. Abdel Rahman Elsayed held a session titled “Bioinformatics and Predictive Modeling in the Realm of Personalized Medicine” at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr International University.
This event, tailored for students, alumni, and faculty staff, addressed the challenges of therapeutic resistance and treatment-related toxicities in the medical field.
Dr. Elsayed, a drug quality control specialist at the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), and former postdoctoral research fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – USA, shared valuable insights into personalized medicine.
The session emphasized the use of bioinformatics and predictive modeling to construct polygenic risk scores, enabling the anticipation of poor responders and the strategic planning of treatment options. This aligns with Misr International University’s commitment to staff development and career counseling.
