قامت جامعة مصر الدولية بالتنسيق مع الهيئة الهندسية للقوات المسلحة في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 05/04/2023 بتنظيم زياراة ميدانية لمجمع الإبداع التكنولوجي للتعريف بأهم إنجازات الهيئة الهندسية للقوات المسلحة المصرية شارك بها عدد (52) من الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس.

Faculty of Engineering Sciences & Arts– Department of Electronics and communications: Graduation Projects Day

The Electronics and Communications Dept (ECE) organized the annual Graduation Projects Day which aims at introducing aspiring graduates to leading companies in the field.  Students presented their work through live demos, a poster session and short videos. The audience, experts in this high-tech industry, offered valuable advice on how to perform well in interviews, write top-notch CVs and how to plan for their career in general.

Graduation project topics targeted several applications including smart cities, healthcare, and telecommunication systems. These applications span various advanced fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and network security. All topics are the focus of the three new MIU-ECE minors: Smart Systems, Networks, and Communication Systems.

Awards were granted to the best projects as per the evaluation of company representatives and professors. Several projects were recognized for their technical merit and how they contribute to society.

Electronics and Communication Engineering New Minors

Electronics and Communication Engineering department is pleased to announce the release of new minors in line with current technological developments to bridge the gap between graduates and the job market:
1. Communication Systems
2. Networks
3. Smart Systems
ECE minors offer advanced technical courses specifically designed to meet the pressing advancements and pressing needs of the industry in several emerging engineering fields.

Faculty of Electronics and communication organized an Optical Fiber Workshop given by WE

The Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a workshop for its senior students on March 17, 2022. The topic of the workshop was Optical Fibers and was given by specialists from Telecom Egypt (WE), one of the leading optical fiber companies in Egypt and the one responsible for the internet connectivity infrastructure in the country, including the New Administrative Capital.

The workshop was a one-day hands-on training on optical fiber technology and measurement techniques that are used in the field. The workshop also included a theoretical session, giving an overview of the fundamentals of optical fiber and fiber applications such as FTTX, long-haul subsea links, data center interconnections, etc.  At the end of the workshop, students received a Certificate of Attendance.

Career Paths in Mobile Communication

On February 24, 2020, the Department of Electronics and Communication of the Faculty of Engineering hostedEng. Omar Zico, Head of International & Roaming Engineering at Etisalat Misr&Eng. Heba Yehia , Project Manager Technical Expert at Etisalat Misr and MIU graduate, to deliver an orientation session to Electronics & Communication senior students. The speakers talked about how to prepare to work in mobile communication and software engineering at the telecommunications companies. The presenters focused on tools that can help senior students identify the field that they would like to work in. Moreover, they clearly explained the process of applying for internships and jobs in the field.

Career Paths in Digital Technology (Cloud Solutions, Programming and Networks)

The Department of Electronics and Communication of the Faculty of Engineering hosted a career orientation session delivered by MIU Alumni Eng. Rafik Asaad, Cloud solution Architect at Microsoft, on February 17, 2020. Senior Electronics & Communication students attended the session. The presenter talked about the developments in digital technologies such as cloud solutions as well as data and networks.  The session also covered the market needs and skills that senior students need to develop to maximize their employability.

Career Paths in Optical & Satellite Communications

The Department of Electronics and Communication of the Faculty of Engineering hosted an orientation session delivered by Eng. Mohamed Sabry, Professional Services Engineer at Universal Advanced Systems (UAS), on February 10, 2020. Senior Electronics & Communication students attended the session. The presenter is an MIU graduate. The session covered the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the field of Satellite & Optical communications. The speaker discussed different aspects about the systems architecture and testing methodologies. Students engaged actively in the discussions.

مرشد سياحى ذكى للمتحف القومى للحضارة المصرية

قام فريق رفيع المستوى من الجامعة يضم الأستاذ الدكتور محسن المهدى مستشار مجلس الجامعة والأستاذ الدكتور ليلى جلال عميدة كلية الألسن والإعلام والأستاذ الدكتور هشام البدوي مستشار مجلس كلية الهندسة والأستاذ الدكتور سامى الحناوي رئيس قسم هندسة الإلكترونيات والاتصالات بزيارة المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية يوم ٣١ أكتوبر ٢٠١٩ بدعوة من الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد الشربيني المشرف العام على المتحف، وذلك بغرض تطوير مرشد سياحي ذكى يمكن السائح من معرفة كافة المعلومات عن أقرب معروض بالمتحف له بطريقة أوتوماتيكية باستخدام تطبيق على موبايل السائح بالإضافة إلى حاسوب قاعدة بيانات يضم كافة المعلومات. وقد نتج عن هذه الزيارة التوصل إلى موافقة متبادلة بين المتحف والجامعة حول إقامة مشروع مشترك وجارى العمل على تنفيذ هذا المشروع.

An executive team from MIU, including Prof. Mohsen Al-Mahdi, Advisor to the University Council, Prof. Laila Galal, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication, Prof. Hisham El-Badawy, Advisor to the Council of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Samy El-Hennawey, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization on the 31st of October 2019 upon an invitation by Prof. Ahmed El-Sherbiny, the General Director of the Museum. The aim of the visit was to develop a smart tour guide that would enable tourists to know all the information about the museum’s nearest exhibit digitally using a mobile application on the tourist’s mobile in addition to a computer database server that includes all the information. At the end of the visit a mutual agreement between the Museum and the University for a joint project was reached.
