The University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, is proud of its history of academic achievement. It ranks as one of the top 10 U.S. public universities in the nation, graduating Rhodes Scholars. Founded in 1844, The University of Mississippi has over 13,000 students enrolled. Major University research facilities include the Whitten National Center for Physical Acoustics, the Center for Computational Hydro Science and Engineering, the National Center for the Development of Natural Products, the Center for Water and Wetlands Resources, and the Center for Marine Resources and Environmental Technology.

Graduating MIU Engineering students who successfully complete courses taught by the University of Mississippi professors will receive a certificate signed by the Dean of the School of Engineering, University of Mississippi, indicating that University of Mississippi professors participated in teaching classes to these particular students.
