Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) was established in 1969 as a national university of technology and financed by the Ministry of Education. Lappeenranta University of Technology is located in Lappeenranta, which is the centre of the South Karelia region in south-east Finland, near Russian border. LUT brings together expertise in engineering and economics in both research and teaching. The university’s areas of strength lie in the forest and metal industry cluster, energy, economics, information and communication technology as well as in expertise in Russia. LUT has several study programs at the Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral levels in the fields of Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Management, Energy Technology, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technology and Information Technology.
