Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1961 at the initiative of the government and the business community and receives both governmental and private sector support. In 1963 the Departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering were added to the original Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 1985 the Departments of Continuing Education and Knowledge Transfer were launched. The Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences is an internationally recognized university with an outstanding reputation for combining theory and practice. The university is a foundation in public law, and can therefore work independently and flexibly in pursuit of its mission.
Program offered to Architecture students only
MIU Architecture students complete their eighth and ninth semesters of their study at Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences completing the first year of the Master’s Program of Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences. They are then eligible to acquire a Joint Bachelor Degree from Both MIU and Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences. The certificate awarded testifies for the successful completion of the Bachelor Degree by MIU students. It has both logos of MIU and Liechtenstein of Applied Sciences and signatures of both University presidents.
Participating faculties: Engineering (Department of Architecture) and Business Administration & International Trade. Eight visits took place so far. Prof. Johannes Kaferstein, Prof. David Van Handel, Prof. Hans Rudiger Kaufmann, and Prof. Hansjort Hiltl were among the visiting professors of Liechtenstein of Applied Sciences.
