Our mission is to graduate professionals equipped with specialized knowledge to enhance their career as specialized engineers capable of contributing to the socio-economic and cultural development of the Egyptian community. The Faculty is committed to research and development in areas responding directly to the technological needs of the profession locally and internationally.
This mission is served with programs that meet the following objectives with respect to education, research, and community service:
I. Education:
The educational objectives of the faculty of engineering are tailored to enhance the quality of graduate engineers as well as the quality of education. 1. Prepare graduates specialized in the different fields of engineering. 2. Develop an effective and stimulating environment for teaching, learning and research in engineering. 3. Offer continuing education programs for the professions in accordance with the authorized specialized agencies. 4. Contribute to teaching interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary programs to other faculties of the university and with other local and international universities.
II. Research:
The research objectives of the faculty of engineering are tailored to cover the gap between the academia and practice through action-based research approaches. 1. Conduct applied studies and research in the different fields of engineering, and provide a ground for exploring new areas and ideas through supporting individual researchers as well as research groups. 2. Provide a unique and favorable environment for the community of academics to pursue their ideas and empirically experiment them, working together and in partnership with other professionals from other domains. 3. Engage with national and international professionals in research and development activities. 4. Host national/international workshops and symposia to address contemporary and future challenging topics, thus coping with the evolutionary and revolutionary engineering theories and technologies. 5. Contribute to inter-and multidisciplinary research programs in other faculties of the university and with other local and international universities.
III. Community Service
The community service objectives of the faculty of engineering are tailored to serve the neighboring communities as well as the entire Egyptian society. 1. Offer helping hands for the neighboring communities with their recurring problems requiring engineering consultations. 2. Conduct workshops that guide society to apply problem-solving approaches to dealing with their problems . 3. Offer educational programs for the nearby community to either upgrade their knowledge or improve their professional employment qualifications. 4. Serve the community by working with social groups, local, provincial and governmental bodies, private sector and professionals towards the inclusive improvement of the environment. 5. Participate in community future planning through establishing scientific strategies that would promote the decision making and the implementation of the national developmental plans.
