The mission of the Department is to enhance its international standing in both teaching and research. It also aims to provide for the educational, economic, social and cultural development of the Egyptian society through graduating students who are able to succeed in various professional milieus, both locally and internationally.

1. Prepare students to become professionally competent individuals who are ethically & socially responsible      in order to excel in the labor market.

2. Prepare students to engage successfully in multicultural communication.

3. Develop students' skills as regards decision making, critical thinking, problem solving and creative writing.

4. Aid students to develop a professional approach towards translating English and Arabic texts.

5. Expose students to a comprehensive range of literary genres and theories as well as various linguistic theories   & fields of study.
