Professor Michael S. Maddux, Pharm.D, FCCP, ACCP Executive Director, will visit MIU Faculty of Pharmacy from February 17th - 21st, 2013. During this period, Prof Maddux will give senior pharmacy students a lecture on “Experiential Rotations and the Approach to Clinical Pharmacy Education in the US”. On Tuesday, February 19th, 2013, he will run a continuous education session on “How Clinical Pharmacy Is Transforming the Profession” to the clinical pharmacists from the affiliated hospitals and key persons in the Egyptian Ministry of Health. He will also give two presentations to the faculty on the “Importance and Structure of Experiential Training in the Academic Process, and “How to Successfully Develop and Advance Your Practice and Career as a Clinical Pharmacist and Preceptor”. A consultation meeting will be held with the members of the Curriculum Development Committee and the Quality Assurance Director. During the visit he will pay several evaluative and advisory visits to several affiliated hospitals: Nasser Institute, International Medical Center (IMC) and Essalam Hospital, to come up with recommendations and action plans for the development of the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice in Egypt.
