Prof. Charles Bierbauer

Prof. Charles Bierbauer, Dean of
the College of Mass Communication
and Information Studies, University of South Carolina, will be visiting MIU
from May 12th -24th, 2012.

 

Prof. Bierbauer is going to be a guest lecturer in Public Opinion, and Journalism News Documentaries courses.  He will also have the time to evaluate Journalism graduation
projects.

 

Prof. Bierbauer’s career has covered
a broad range of media experience.

Being a correspondent for CNN in Washington, he covered the Reagan and Bush administrations as CNN’s senior White House correspondent. 

 

Before that, he was an overseas correspondent for ABC News, first as Moscow Bureau Chief and later as the Bonn Bureau Chief.

 

In News Documentaries course,
Journalism graduating students will
have the opportunity to discuss their multimedia news production from a professional point of view. 

 

In Public Opinion course, he is expected to explain the propaganda techniques and apply them to media practice.

 

During his visit, Prof. Bierbauer
will meet with Mass Communication
staff and discuss with them curriculum development ideas as well as new areas in mass media research.

He will also give a public lecture to all Mass Communication students.
