Prof. Rowena Schwartz, PharmD, BCOP, Senior Director, Clinical Content and Services, McKesson Specialty Health, is visiting MIU Faculty of Pharmacy from February 18th - March 1st, 2012. Dr. Schwartz is teaching 4th year Pharmacy students the common oncologic diseases and their pharmacotherapeutic approaches. She is also supervising the application of new teaching and assessment techniques of OSLE and OSCE in the laboratory sessions to enhance the students’ professional competencies in simulated clinical settings. She is going to meet with the Pharmacy Practice Specialists and the TAs to discuss several issues related to “Preceptorship”, the newly developed concept in the pharmacy practice developed by MIU. She is also going to discuss the role of the clinical Pharmacy in oncology, and necessary chemotherapy patient follow up and counseling concepts, that will lead to the advancement of health outcomes in Egypt.
